wedding-crown

Traditional wedding crowns from €150

Stefana or Stephana or Stephania (wedding crowns) are an integral part of Greek Orthodox and Eastern Orthodox wedding ceremonies, and symbolize the connection and union of the bride and groom. The circles also represent eternal love, for a circle has no beginning and no end.

This is a beautiful tradition and we are here to help by offering you a unique symbol of your marriage, exclusively designed and handmade here on Skopelos.

wedding-candles

Lambada

Wedding Candles from €25 each

In traditional Greek weddings, there are usually 4 Lambada (candles), two on the altar and two for the bride and groom. The candles indicate that Jesus, the Light of the world, will light them in their new life  together.

witness-pins1

Martyrika from €10

– or witness pins – are small lapel ribbons handed out at the end of the ceremony and worn by guests as proof of witnessing the wedding. The traditional pin is made of white ribbon and features a tiny cross in the centre.

Some martyrika are much more elaborate (see picture) and are pretty enough to make a lasting keepsake.

bombonieres

Bombonieres from €8

The gift of bombonieres is an eastern Orthodox tradition which is over 3000 years old. Filled with Koufeta, or almonds, the favours are given as tokens of good fortune and happiness. They are symbolic of life, with their bittersweet taste. The sugar coating represents the hope that life will be blessed with more sweetness than bitterness. Bombonieres are always filled with an odd number of almonds. The odd number is indivisible and symbolizes the union and indivisibility of the newly married couple.
